Dr. Jeanne Nelson is a contemporary, impressionistic painter best known for her textured and vibrant landscape, city scene and seascape paintings. She uses palette knives, color, and design, with a technique where paints are layered. This impasto technique adds expressiveness with movement making 3-dimensional sculptural renderings using heavy body acrylic paint. Nelson finds inspiration for her paintings as she lives on the breathtaking Texas Coast and travels around the country viewing captivating scenery that she represents in her paintings.
After a long career in Education where she received her doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Special Populations she began painting. Her career in education focused on teaching students with dyslexia and teaching educators the best techniques in educating students with special needs. Dr. Nelson began painting under the direction of Jennifer Vranes, one of today’s top artists. Since she was a child, she has always enjoyed arts and crafts and continues creating in addition to her painting.
